Setting Up on Your Computer
This is the standard install. Your operating system lives in a folder on your laptop, and your agent is there whenever your laptop is open. It is the fastest way to start.
If you want your agent reachable from any device and running when your laptop is closed, read Setting Up on a Server instead. Follow one path, not both. You can move from your computer to a server later without losing anything — see the Portability Guide.

Once you paste the deployment prompt there are no more installs or detours. From that point it is you and the system having a conversation.

No technical background required
Section titled “No technical background required”If you can install an app and copy-paste text, you can do this. If something asks you to install Git or command line developer tools during setup, click Install and let it finish. That is normal, especially on a Mac, and it can take a few minutes. Do not close the window while it runs.
