Moving to a New Computer

Save everything first:

Terminal window
git add -A
git commit -m "Final save before computer transition"
git push

Install the prerequisites:

  • Your editor — VS Code, Cursor, or Antigravity
  • The Claude Code extension, signed in
  • Git
  • GitHub CLI — winget install GitHub.cli or brew install gh
  • Authenticate: gh auth login

Clone your repository:

Terminal window
cd "path/where/you/want/the/folder"
git clone https://github.com/YOUR-USERNAME/my-business-os.git

Everything — context, pipeline, diagnostics, processes, skills — is now on the new machine.

Open it: File → Open Folder, select the cloned folder, open Claude Code. It reads CLAUDE.md and picks up where you left off.

Set up the framework upstream, once:

Terminal window
cd "path/to/my-business-os"
git remote add upstream https://github.com/lesixcompanies/90mm-real-estate-bos.git

Open Claude Code and ask:

What’s my current constraint and where are we in the change sequence?

If it answers correctly, you are done. Your entire operating system — diagnostic history, constraint analysis, documented processes, execution plans, every decision you have logged — moved in one command.
