Git problems
Section titled “Git problems”“Repository not found” when cloning — check the URL, and make sure you are authenticated (gh auth login). For a private repo you must be signed in as the account that owns it.
“Permission denied” when pushing — re-authenticate with gh auth login. If that does not fix it, check you have write access.
“Your branch is behind” — you made changes on another computer that are not pulled yet. git pull first, then push.
“Merge conflict” after pulling — both machines edited the same file. Say “I have a merge conflict, help me resolve it.”
“I accidentally made the repository public” — GitHub → your repo → Settings → scroll to Danger Zone → Change Visibility → Private. Then review what was exposed and change any passwords or API keys that appeared in it.
